A positive outlook and building relationships on a foundation of trust are at the forefront of Amjad Mahmood’s success offering opportunities and solutions to his Gescan team and their customers.

After moving from Pakistan to Canada in 2002, Amjad obtained his electrical engineering degree from the University of British Columbia in 2009 and dove into his career as a project sales engineer for a technical sales team at Eaton, where he stayed for 11 years.

Amjad joined Gescan in 2022, bringing his pre-emptive and collaborative approach to his work.

“I firmly believe that showing your support and being proactive to handle any situation can make your job more productive and help in building ever-lasting relationships,” he says, adding strong connections with end users and other stakeholders comes from trust.

“I always try to offer them accurate and complete solutions and meet their requirements, making sure I am being transparent upfront and sincere to avoid any issues which could occur at later stage.”

As a distribution specialist, Amjad provides technical support to the sales team, project group and end users, works with vendors to prepare technical proposals, review electrical drawings and technical specifications, manage large scale commercial and residential distribution projects, and collaborates with electrical contractors and consultants to make design modifications — all while offering his expertise to customers and staff.

With his recently acquired Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation, he brings added value to the team at Gescan and additional authority to his position.

But, ultimately, Amjad believes his positive nature is what drives his success.
